The 26th Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix (GP) Winter Drama Selection for 2022 was held. The Best Picture Award went to NTV's "Sukisuki Wan Wan! ", the Best Actor Award went to King & Prince's "Yuta Kishi". The Best Supporting Actor Award went to Bishonen's "Hidaka Ukisho", and the Best Supporting Actor Award went to "Oideyasu Oda" in 5th place.
*Voting was conducted from March 16 to 23 on the website "http://nikkan-sports.com" and the pay-per-view smartphone site "Nikkan Entertainment", with a total of 15,459 valid votes. The top five in each category will be nominated for the annual final.

It also ranked No. 1 in the "Oricon Weekly Music DVD/BD Ranking," which is the total of DVD and BD of music works, achieving No. 1 in three video categories simultaneously!
The first-week sales of the video were 205,000 DVDs and 323,000 BDs, for a total of 528,000 units, making this King & Prince's sixth consecutive video and sixth in total to be ranked No. 1 in all three video categories simultaneously. The record for "the number of works from the 1st music video work to be ranked No.1 in the 3 video categories simultaneously" [*1] has gone from a tie for No.1 to the No.1 position all-time. This drama is full of how Mr. Wakabayashi and Mr. Yamazato spent their young days.
By playing Mr. Wakabayashi, my impression of him has changed a lot.
I used to think of him as a dependable MC. Once I knew what he was, however, I noticed he is too self-conscious and tends to be stuck with various things. I can empathize with him because I might be more similar to him than I thought. I often feel uneasy about the small stuff, which makes people around me worry.
When I read his essay, I decided to dog-ear every page I could empathize with and finally made more than half the dog-ears of the whole book, haha.
My empathy will help me play him. I hope to ‘relive’ the long and passionate youth of Mr. Wakabayashi and Mr. Yamazato together.
I'll work carefully one by one.

Speaking of Mr.Yamazato I play, he is famous for Ten-no Koe San of “Sukkiri,” isn't he? Though I just thought him a narrator of the morning show to deliver laughter and vitality each day, researching him, I discovered I could never empathize with him, haha.
In his young days, he wrote down what insulted or who hurt him in a notebook, tightly packed with various negative emotions such as jealousy.
However, it is sure that he owes what he is to what he was. I'm so excited to think it's a step that makes me like him even more.

By playing Mr. Wakabayashi, my impression of him has changed a lot.
I used to think of him as a dependable MC. Once I knew what he was, however, I noticed he is too self-conscious and tends to be stuck with various things. I can empathize with him because I might be more similar to him than I thought. I often feel uneasy about the small stuff, which makes people around me worry.
When I read his essay, I decided to dog-ear every page I could empathize with and finally made more than half the dog-ears of the whole book, haha.
My empathy will help me play him. I hope to ‘relive’ the long and passionate youth of Mr. Wakabayashi and Mr. Yamazato together.

Speaking of Mr.Yamazato I play, he is famous for Ten-no Koe San of “Sukkiri,” isn't he? Though I just thought him a narrator of the morning show to deliver laughter and vitality each day, researching him, I discovered I could never empathize with him, haha.

【Special interview】“’Irodori”
“’Irodori’ sounded as THE ONE from the beginning”
-“Irodori” is the theme song of the drama “Boyfriend Korin” which Kaito Takahashi played the lead, could you share us its making process?
Kaito: At first, there were 2 to 3 choices of the songs, and we chose “Irodori” as “this is the one!”. Right from the start, the melody had the power within and the lyrics had the impact as well. We thought it shined and stood out from the others.
Jin: We’ve had some special feeling from the right start. It depends on times whether we all agree on the songs right away, but for this time, we agreed for both “Tsukiyomi” and “Irodori”.
Sho: Yeah, both songs were brilliant.
Kishi; “Irodori” is a medium ballad, as well as some hints of pops and has fugacity in tune, and that’s what I like about this song. It really sticks to your head so I find myself humming it now and then.
Ren: The vibes are mild, which is also shown in the MV, and is the song which gives you a heart-warming feeling. It matches well with the drama Kaito stars, so I believe it was good that we’ve succeeded of making a totally different yet amazing piece to “Tsukiyomi”.
The natural looks that express “the loving feeling towards the members” as the theme
-the MV looks as though the members are relaxing in Kaito’s studio, and you all seem to enjoy the atmosphere of just being your natural selves.
Kaito: We’d like to thank the director for that. It was his first suggestion to film the “bond and friendship among each other”. But it really was a controversy within us because “Irodori” sings about “love”, and wasn’t really sure if it was okay to film the MV in the suggested way.
Jin: We didn’t want it to look differently. We didn’t want it to be like “affection towards other members”, but wanted it as “love of humanity”.
Kaito: Yeah, we were having some talks about it, but the director strongly recommended it to us and turned out really well as a MV. It made me cry.
Sho: Kaito, the MV itself looks as it’s your usual perspective, but is it really so? Is it anywhere close to how you usually see us?
Kaito: Actually, it was our first time to work with the director, but I wondered why he knows so much about the way I feel inside.
Sho: That’s good news, the MV was really good! Knowing that it’s the way you see us makes our heart warm as well.
Jin: It’s especially good that you see it through the camera lens.
Ren: Yeah, that’s right!
Kaito: This time, the MV also includes the part where the members tried the shooting.
Sho: Since Kaito regularly takes our photo, the scenes were quite natural for us that we couldn’t really tell the difference between the shooting and our private selves.

Kaito: It also has the part where we are just fooling around thinking the camera is not on. Add to it, the special clip includes the MV and its making-of film which the members filmed each other, and also the scene where we selected the pics for the photobook.
Jin: That’s right! We selected the photos ourselves!
Kaito: Well…You see, your smiles look different when I take the photos. There is definitely an expression which I could only take.
Jin: Yeah, I truly believe so. So again, I want you to take more of our photos.

Ren: The vibes are mild, which is also shown in the MV, and is the song which gives you a heart-warming feeling. It matches well with the drama Kaito stars, so I believe it was good that we’ve succeeded of making a totally different yet amazing piece to “Tsukiyomi”.
The natural looks that express “the loving feeling towards the members” as the theme
-the MV looks as though the members are relaxing in Kaito’s studio, and you all seem to enjoy the atmosphere of just being your natural selves.
Kaito: We’d like to thank the director for that. It was his first suggestion to film the “bond and friendship among each other”. But it really was a controversy within us because “Irodori” sings about “love”, and wasn’t really sure if it was okay to film the MV in the suggested way.
Jin: We didn’t want it to look differently. We didn’t want it to be like “affection towards other members”, but wanted it as “love of humanity”.
Kaito: Yeah, we were having some talks about it, but the director strongly recommended it to us and turned out really well as a MV. It made me cry.
Sho: Kaito, the MV itself looks as it’s your usual perspective, but is it really so? Is it anywhere close to how you usually see us?
Kaito: Actually, it was our first time to work with the director, but I wondered why he knows so much about the way I feel inside.
Sho: That’s good news, the MV was really good! Knowing that it’s the way you see us makes our heart warm as well.
Jin: It’s especially good that you see it through the camera lens.
Ren: Yeah, that’s right!
Kaito: This time, the MV also includes the part where the members tried the shooting.
Sho: Since Kaito regularly takes our photo, the scenes were quite natural for us that we couldn’t really tell the difference between the shooting and our private selves.
Jin: Our fans also like the photo that Kaito takes, so I want Kaito to take more of our photos.
Kaito: …right. *Lol
“Some expressions of the members which Kaito could only capture”
Kaito: Ren was playing with the Rubik’s cube throughout the shooting, remember? I think I was the one filming that scene.
Ren: I was able to get one side right after Kaito taught me the tips. That’s when it all became unstoppable. The director told me it was “Nice” to play with it too, so I just kept on going.
Kaito: Did he say “Nice” to the Rubik’s cube? *Lol
Ren: Yep. *Lol That’s why I had fun with it all the way.
Sho: Jin and Kishi dropped some really good vibes too. *Lol
Kishi: Ah, the rap part, right? We were just having fun and didn’t expect that to be on the MV. Although the rapping scene is not shown on YouTube, it really shows how we are enjoying the time as our usual selves.
Jin: The glasses which we wore while rapping was chosen by us too.
Kishi: We were having fun as usual and didn’t really recognise the camera.
Sho: Were you a little nervous when the director said “OK!”?
Kishi: I was like “don’t tell me he’ll use it…”.
Sho: Hahaha! But I really like that part because it kind of shows how we really are.
Kishi: It turned out as the MV that we all wanted to film. It was the one which got the best out of our natural selves.
Kaito: It also has the part where we are just fooling around thinking the camera is not on. Add to it, the special clip includes the MV and its making-of film which the members filmed each other, and also the scene where we selected the pics for the photobook.
Jin: That’s right! We selected the photos ourselves!
Kaito: Well…You see, your smiles look different when I take the photos. There is definitely an expression which I could only take.
Jin: Yeah, I truly believe so. So again, I want you to take more of our photos.

“There are many of the favourites among the B sides”

Kishi: “Ashita wa Ashita no Kaze ga Fuku (Tomorrow is another day)” listed on the first-run limited edition “A” has a pop tune and is a song that makes you feel positive.

Kishi: Meanwhile, the first-run limited edition “B” includes the ballad called “Omokage (Remnants)”.
Kaito: That song had all started from the conversation of “how awesome the J-POP songs were in the past”, and so ended up trying some like the “old J-POPs”.

Sho: Yeah. We had the chance to recreate how they expanded the voice in the J-POPs in the past.
Jin: “Kimi to Merry Christmas (Merry Christmas with you)” is a song inspired by “Jingle Bells”, and it really sounds as THE “Christmas song”. Hope you’ll enjoy your Christmas party!

"Tsukiyomi"― Our Unanimous Choice
― "Tsukiyomi" is the theme song for the drama "Kurosagi" starring Sho Hirano. How did you decide on the track?
Hirano: We all chose it among the five or six songs we listened to.
Jinguji: We had never tried such a Latin song, so I felt it was initially unconventional.
Nagase: Even after deciding on the tune, we had many discussions about the lyrics and the song.
Hirano: As far as I remember, we've never talked about more, from one letter in the lyrics to a single sound. While deciding on the song, I read the script for the drama and was sure the music would be perfect for the story.
Kishi: I watched how the drama would end before the broadcast, and the drama and the music would be in sync.
Takahashi: Well-balanced overall.
Choreo by RIEHATA, Who Encouraged Us with "Ichiban"
― The powerful dance has a strong impact by the choreographer RIEHATA of "Ichiban."
Hirano: This time, to tell the truth, we had a tight schedule. That's why we needed a choreographer who could raise our level, based on well-communication and understanding of our strong points. We concluded that she would be the right person. I was looking forward to seeing how she resulted in a choreography for a Latin song.
Takahashi: In my opinion, the deciding factor was that she gave us confidence with the work "ichiban" when we worked together. I trust that she makes incredible choreography of any song.
Kishi: This choreography, too, is attractive.
Nagase: This dance, too, requires intense.
Takahashi: We sometimes practiced until midnight, didn’t we?
Hirano: We worked each during the day and met at night. It was the same when we used to train dancing at night, right?
Takahashi: Absolutely! I think so too.
Kishi: The dance turned out stylish no matter where you cut it. I enjoy it and naturally have a fun expression.
― Your singing sounds passionate and mellow. How did you record it?
Kishi: I sang the song with imaging mature.
Jinguji: Thanks to the live concert at Yokohama Arena, I may have warmed my throat before recording.
Kishi: I guess you’re right.
Hirano: RIEHATA-san came to our recording as well. We worked together so that the song and dance could match.
Requesting an “Abstract” “Bad End” of the Music Video
― The music video is a work with the director Takuto Shimpo of "magic touch" and "ichiban." You commented, "It expresses the inner heart of a person addicted to a mysterious woman whom he can't get out of," didn’t you?
Hirano: I've trusted him. He finished the fantastic, brilliant, and a bit dark music video. This time, we first requested an abstract story that only he could do. And we hoped the music video wouldn’t tell everything at first glance. We also asked him to end it tragically. I like movies and songs with bad endings because such a melancholy work makes me desire to hear and watch them again.
Takahashi: Perhaps it's typical of him to have a music video with such a well-crafted story. He created an abstract and narrative film with room for deep thought.
Hirano: I usually tell him the title of a movie so that he uses condensed things of the theme and story of the movie in our film.
Jinguji: We enjoyed the video shoot.

― The driving project video in the Dear Tiara edition, limited to fan clubs, is a must-see for your fans. How did you feel when you visited memorable places such as Kurie (Theatre Creation) and Teikoku-Gekijo (Imperial Theatre)?
Kishi: It is No-Plan DRIVE, isn’t it? I will never forget the taste of “Yakiniku(barbeque).” Of course, I remember there was a story leading up to it.
Nagase: At the end of the drive, we ate out for the first time in a while. The bonus video will include the scene, but don't call the road trip "a story leading up to it," haha.
Kishi: No, no! I mean, “Yakiniku” tasted well because we drove a lot…
Jinguji: Kishi-kun, from the beginning, you kept saying, "Let's go and eat Yakiniku," haha.
Hirano: The trip was amazing because we didn't have a chance to look back on things from before our debut in that way.

Manga "KUROSAGI" series were produced by Kuromaru / Takeshi Natsuhara. Serialized in "Weekly Young Suday" (by Shogakukan) from November in 2003 to July in 2008, after its suspended publication ”NEW KUROSAGI” succeeded it in "Big Comic Spirits" (by Shogakukan) from September in 2008 to July in 2012 to its completion. ”KUROSAGI IS BACK - Scams for 18-year-old New Adults" - was serialized in "Spirits" from the 43rd to 49th editions in 2022. The whole consists of 198 volumes in all. The separate comic book is most popular exceeding 8.5 Million copies.
